Vintage DoAll Band Filer / Band Saw (converted, could be converted back)

Is does not have the high speed range, but is still a variable speed. Might make a heck of a home bandsaw. Looks to be converted to single phase power. I would get more details on this as the original 3 phase motor was really heavy on purpose for the dual sheave variable speed drive. The Do-All band saws are generally built like tanks. This one is 1959 vintage. I like the Do-Alls from this era best.

Some eBay accounts are being offered a $25 off $25.01 or more (excluding shipping and tax) coupon - HAPPY25.

I use my eBay account 2-3 times a year... and the coupon worked... but a lot of folks are saying it doesn't for them... so YMMV... but certainly worth a try. Doesn't seem to be a restriction on the type of item/category (except the 'usual' restrictions like coins, paper money, etc.).

It's being sent to accounts that have been registered on eBay for 20 years. I got one in my eBay inbox, and noticed it right after I bought something for $26...:lol_hitti

2003 account here, no go on the code, just like literally every other Ebay code for the past year or two. Seen over a dozen promos that didn't work on my account since the last one that did work. All I get are the occasional seller-specific coupons where the seller list and product list is all ****.

Very offputting. Why have a bunch of codes and exclude some customers? I feel more and more insulted each time this happens.

I get that someone said that, but it seems implausible that they'd be putting out codes for that particular reason??? I don't know. The Slickdeals thread on the code doesn't say anything about 20 years, so as far as I can tell, the other poster is just guessing?

And what's the reason I don't get any of the other codes?

I think it's more likely the case that they just send codes to people who haven't bought on their site in a while. Still, as a regular user of their site, it's offputting.

Edit: one of the Slickdeals replies says "I made 3 new accounts and the code worked on 1 so far. "

I'm not guessing, it's what the message from eBay said. I received the code directly from ebay, and it contained a report showing what the first items you bought and sold on ebay, and a few other "landmarks" of first activity on your eBay account.

dang--i opened an account back in HS in 1998 but it got closed after not using it for like 10 years. didnt realize that so now my account is only from like 2016. too bad

It worked on my account that is older than 20 years. I did not get an eBay message or email telling me that I had a code waiting for me though.

Wow, I never look at this thread since it usually is just about old wrenches and sockets.
My 1998 account got the message and the code works. Somehow I missed it as I have had quite a few offers and counteroffers over the last few days and it got buried.

Now... what to get.

Ebay coupons are generally tailored to specific person/set of people.. and they are generally send to the Inbox of the ebay user on their ebay account. Those coupons usually have a pretty short period to use as well... So even if some one posted an Ebay coupon code here , it will most likely not work. like the HAPPY25 for $25 off is specific to user. PARTYFOR25 is 25% off for specific sets of manufacture seller, for example WROX,,Bissell stuff etc to offer 25% off on their open box refurbish stuff I think.

That was on the first page when you login to ebay... not on the inbox, sometimes if you blink, you missed it and won't show up till the next few times you login...... I think this is for everyone on certain set of sellers .. .I got the wrox washer... at $55 out the door... refurbish but comes with battery not too bad. last day today 09/07/2020
