Not sure where else I could post this..
is this **** legit?? I just got this message in eBay.

Bosch actively supports the advertising and promotion of its products by its authorized dealers and distributors. Your current listing for the GLM 40 does not follow our MAP Policy. Please either comply with our policy or remove your listing.

Thank you for adhering to our policy. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Oh, you got a message from someone else? Not eBay? Screw that...they can't do anything. You're not a dealer so you don't have to follow MAP pricing. What are they going to do, pull your distributor license you don't have? Lol

So they could do that for any friggin Bosch item on eBay, new or used?? That seems a little far-fetched to me. Look up Bosch (or any major brand for that matter) on eBay, I bet out of the thousands of listings, maybe 2% are "authorized retailers".

Im sure its canned. Problem is ebay tends to pull listings at request without question so it may very well get pulled.

Maybe change the condition to used or use the hidden price feature if its a BIN to comply with MAP. It wont affect price high to low sorting.

I have had multiple listings pulled from ebay because Snap On said I violated their trademarks. I also listed a Shelby Mustang clock and someone from Shelby company complained to ebay that I was selling unlicensed merchandise, despite the fact that it said officially licensed on the back of it. I dont know the legal aspects of it but I just changed the wording around a little and relisted it and had no problems.

eBay and Craigslist are essentially the same as a newspaper classified ad. Does that mean they have control over those too?

Are they basically just saying I have to list it for a higher price?

They want you to display the MSRP. Ebay does have a feature to comply with this by hiding the selling price until you click on it. The actual price you're selling for is used for price filters so there isn't much downside.

You own it, not them... "I am selling my unused Bosch------ You are the first retail purchaser; so selling it as "new" would not be proper terminology. But unused or like new condition would hopefully work without problems??
