About once a month for the last 10 years I wished I had a 1/2 drive impact wrench (I actually have the sockets but no wrench) but never enough to buy one in a hurry......then I make do some other way and the urge passes. Last week, after fighting my son's Camry lug nuts and my mower blades (1 1/8 socket), I finally decided to get one. I don't need monster torque so I searched and everything I read pointed to the I-R 231 or some close relative of it. I expect to spend $130 or so, right? Along the way I see this I-R 2906P1...$800 plus MSRP, $700+ at grainger and other online places. I have no need for that much durability, it's designed for factories and 24-hour a day abuse. And it isn't even much if any more powerful than a basic tool....but I love the idea of stuff worth passing down when I'm gone.
How about brand new, $128 plus $15 shipping on Ebay??
I should have it mid week...can't wait.
