I have a mint 3/8 like that I'd sell for $30.00 shipped and it has the newer snap on logo.

I just got one of these from ebay. This wrench is heavy metal. This thing is 24 hour per click cricket ratchet deep in the woods working on God's machine. I think I'm going to paint this thing cricket green. But I want the quick release button on it.

I see on the Snap-On site that some were ''available with lock button instead of friction ball on special order only.''

Does anybody know which ''lock button'' modern rebuild kit to use for this ratchet? I want the quick release. Can I 3D-print it?

I like this ratchet. I'd work on the space shuttle with this ratchet.

Alright. I took out the two screws. The half inch ratchet thing came out. The selector thing is not coming out. There is rust in there. I want to clean this up. How does the ON/OFF selector thing come out?

If it's anything like the FL710b and 7 other old SOs I just lubed an hour ago, the switch is peened into the pawl. It will not come out. I "think" I see it peened in your photo.

I cleaned mine real good with brake clean and wd-40 back and forth, then used PermaTex 81950 Ultra Slick Engine Assembly Lube as recommended on here.

EDIT: if the rust is really in there, put it in Evaporust or vinegar for a while, couple hours to overnight depending on severity. Keep it warm. I do Evaporust in my office, b/c my garage is much colder and it doesn't do the chem reaction as well.

Thank you for that awesome response. I totally understand that. I don't want to mess with taking that apart. I'm going to soak it and lube it up and put it together and mask off the selector area and paint it gloss white with lime green inserts.
