After reading the recent post about hacksaws, I decided it was time for a new hacksaw. Seeing several people recommended Bahco, I found and bought this one on Ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=250216053261&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=015). I was also watching this auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=280196001662&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=018). Does anyone see the irony here? I know Snap On makes great tools but in this case I think that's a lot to pay for a name.

After reading the reviews on the Bahco and the Lenox, I went shopping for a decent hack saw ... ending buying a Craftsman (made in Sweden) and looks just like the Snap On hack saw ... :)

As I mentioned in the hacksaw post you referred to: Snap-on, Bahco and now possibly Craftsman are made by the same company which was once called Sandvik in Sweden. Sandvik is now called Bahco AB after it was purchased by Snap-on in 1999.

That Craftsman is probably made by Bahco... in any case, you have a good saw.

Bidding started at $19.99. Buyers decide what something it worth, and they decided it was worth it.

Does anyone actually know what the retail is for these saws. I haven't been able to find either one on the Snap-on or Bahco sites.

I think anyone who pays $61.00 for a hacksaw should have his head examined.
