I bid on a few last night, sadly they went for more than I wanted to pay. Then I missed one auction and it ended much cheaper than expected.

I'm holding on the bids. Last night appeared to be better priced than today. Damn, money or lack of it.....

I need 410 ammo for upland opener in 6 weeks.

Most of the snap on I find on eBay usually ends higher than what my driver will sell it to me cash and carry.

This is the internet... you can post links.

http://www.ebay.com/dsc/i.html?_fro...0.l1313&_osacat=0&_odkw=snap+patterson+estate

Heres a completed version

http://www.ebay.com/sch/bigttown/m....lete=1&LH_Sold=1&rt=nc&_trksid=p2046732.m1684

Looks like they're doing very well. A lot of prices are at the high side of what they go for. This is the proper way to move a box full of tools instead of taking a few crappy photos and asking 50k.

On an aside looks like the owner was a true tool polisher. Some of that script is from the 80s and it all looks new.

The fact that they're willing to ship to Europe, Australia, and Japan is probably helping to drive the prices up.

I saw that. I am not a fan of shipping international. I suppose if I did it more often it would be less of an issue. :dunno:

Wow I just clicked on the link and those prices are ridiculous...
Reminds me of the tool auctions I go to where all the Amish show up and bid up all the used tools to more than truck listing prices

We had a few auctions that some amish drove to Maine for, they were destroying the normal prices just like what you are saying. I couldn't believe what they would pay for some of the junk. It made me want to start bringing stuff to them.

Generally the Amish don't use computers...so they're not on fleeBay or buying other stuff online and they more than likely do not have credit cards and PayPal accounts. A lot of older people do not do computer thingy either. My sister in law moved a bunch of Chinese made collectibles through a local auction we couldn't sell at giveaway prices on CL.

/threadjack, but, how do the Amish even have money? i thought they were more on the bartering/trading thing than actually using US Dollars to buy stuff

The Amish are LOADED. I live not far from an area with a large population of them. Don't ever try and outbid Amish at an auction you will lose.

Are you kidding me? Most of the Amish have way more money than any of us on this forum. They are LOADED

Amish typically have quite a bit of money personally. I've grown up with them and work with them all the time. We build large metal buildings (car dealerships, food distribution centers, etc. as well as hay barns and shops) they are very thrifty but they pay out the *** for certain things because they have to. Some build furniture, some have a greenhouse, some have a dairy, some do custom hay baling, but most work on a building crew. Only the older ones just have the small family farm/ranch. (In my area. It's different in different places) they are all super great people though.

And contrary to popular belief, they have cell phones and use the Internet frequently. My boss has an iPhone and an iPad.

It actually depends on the sect they are in. Some are very advanced and some remain committed to their simplistic beliefs.

The Amish aren't "loaded" per say. They just hold cash as an asset versus many English (as the Amish call us) who have objects.

How do the Amish accept credit cards?
How do they have fluorescent lights in the warehouse? (see :08)
How did they make their website?

I don't reload 410's. Always seem to be bidding against ***** guys when a used machine comes up to auction, and usage just can't justify a new MEC. Usually only shoot 2 days at most per year, then go to the 28 gauge - which I do reload. I can get about 3 years out of a flat of 410's, but last year was different and shot all I had. Average just @ 30 rounds for 15 doves.
As you know with dekes you always get what you pay for so cheap isn't really ever saving money. Tools are going to take a back seat till I have the rest of the hunting gear in house.

Between spinners and water keels, I've done ok but I'm convinced the full bodies will make a helluva difference on field ducks. Just might have to try to new G&H keel adapter to see if they work just to save some storage room, cause I'm out. If I'm wrong I'd only be out less than $75.

Yep. Most still claim to be "Old Order Amish" but some have solar panels and generators while others drive their buggy to their English neighbors house to watch the NBA playoffs. In Ohio they don't have tractors but they have bicycles. Here it's the exact opposite. In Colorado I believe they wither have both or just bicycles. Seems crazy to me, but I support their right to do their own thing!
