Okay, I'm game. I have nothing against being eco-friendly.

Probably the main thing I do in the garage is to make sure and properly recycle all of my fluids....oil, other lubricants, antifreeze, etc. just to clairfy...before some of you guys jump on the chance to make fun of my fluids!

I remember when my dad and I dumped our used oil into the storm water grate. We lived about 1/2 mile from the river (not that the distance really mattered). I didn't even give a second thought to where the stuff was going and apparently nobody else did either because no one ever said a word and we were in the middle of the city.

I definitely wouldn't call myself a "greenie" but I am a practical guy and was taught my whole life to "waste not want not." As far as I'm concerned taking care of our natural environment is the same as "waste not."

Call me crazy if you want.

Post #5 was in jest I don't dump fluids in the ground or throw trash out out my trk door I don't call it eco friendly just being a responsible person. Eco friendly makes me think of people with nothing better to do than flying halfway around the world telling someone else what there doing wrong.

I'd never think to do it today, but when I was a kid my Dad routinely had me dig holes with a post hole digger in our backyard and pour used oil down them. We did this for YEARS. I kinda doubt we were the only ones. I'm guessing in the country you poured it on weeds or something. Yuck by today's standards. We REALLY took the planet for granted then.
