I have so much stuff in my collection but I still do not have an ECO.

I am constantly on the prowl for a decent unrestored one.

Some day I will find one and in the meantime, I remain jealous of the guys who have one.

My boys got me one for Christmas a couple of years ago. I spent the winter making it nice.

I thought this was funny when I read that....you must be young to have asked this. The compressor was piped into the base or into the back of the wall mounted unit. Alot quicker back then as each gas station had LARGE compressors.

They did a fine job popping bike tire tubes when I was a kid. One of the last true service stations in Irondequoit, NY had one that I'd fill up my bike tires at. More than once I would walk the bike back to my relative's house with a popped tube. Then once I figured out how to work it the station got modernized into a convenience store.

Looks great, especially restored!

Charles (in GA) I didn't realize I had done a "no no"? They were GAS stations in my day. I think later they became known a "Service Stations"

Glad to hear I'm not the only one that popped the bike's tires!

I believe what Charles meant was that back in the day, they were not just gas dispensing stations but provided true "service". When you stopped for gas, they filled it for you while they washed your windshield, checked your oil, radiator and tire pressure, vacuumed the floor mats (you get the idea), etc. Ever seen the old pictures where the station attendants wore white uniforms and ties!!!

Cheers

It was funny to us (I worked at a station that had one) when a kid would come in we would hear Ding,Ding,Ding,Ding,Ding,POP everyone would know it was a kid poping bike tube.

I have seen one on the web I think it was a reproduction. I will look to see if I can find it again and post a photo. If I remember it was a little different but close

I have had my eyes peeled for one for years. 600+bucks for unrestored ones is too high for me. Whats amazing is there's a kwikfill gas station in Bath NY that still has one in use. We stopped for gas in the hot rod on our way to the Syracuse Nationals last year and seen it. Someone had painted it yellow years ago. It's hard to believe someone hasn't swiped it.

Hi, I've got an eco model 37. This is a little larger unit and probably a lot harder to find. This is more for a fleet operations shop. It even had a light in it.
The light socket needs replacing, and one hinge on the rear door is rusted frozen. anyone else got one. Not sure weather to restore it or sell like it is.
This brings back a lot of memories for me because I retired from The City of Charlotte maintenaice shop. We had several of these around the shop.
