So, I've got my HD37 and HD40 and I've waited long enough for the floor to cure. I need a little more specific instruction on the application of this stuff. I've emailed Scotty but since he's in Florida he's probably in a hurricane right now and can't answer.
Has anyone else here applied this combo? I need to know if I should wash the floor before applying the HD37? How long after applying the HD37 until I can apply the HD40?
Thanks in advance if anyone can help me get this done this weekend.
Hello Shaggyant;
I just applied the HD37 yesterday to my 2000 sqft power troweled floor. The floor is new so I just blew it out with a leaf blower and vacuumed the saw cuts. Then washed it down and scrubbed with Simple Green and rinsed well , then let it dry overnight it was 90 degrees here.
I used a cheapo multi-purpose sprayer, spraying each saw kerf section about 12' x 12'. I sprayed half the section and spread out the HD37 with a microfiber pad sprayed the rest worked it in no puddles.
I tried to judge the amount of product going down and the first section 36'x8' I only used less than 1/2 a gallon so I went back over with a second coat. It had already dried a bit for the second coat again it was like 90. Doing the rest I sprayed a bit more so I had a wetter surface with the rest, but still had enough product to do two coats. I had 5 gallons and when done doing 2 coats have about 1 gallon left over.
The tech paper says one coat as well as Scotty says one coat is sufficient. I think I needed to get a bit more material down let it sit for 5 minutes then work it in. It was warm so product was drying a bit quick.
Took me 2 hours start to finish just me working it with a 10 minute water break. Really easy to do and 5 gallons should be plenty for your 1800 sqft.
I was going to do the HD40 today ( one day after HD37 ) I think someone else on GJ did that but I might wait a couple days as SHEA recommends.
Good luck
