|Anyone out there have any experience with these Edenpure quartz heaters that are being touted recently? The larger model claims to cover 1000sq ft. Wondering how well they work and what the cost is to run them. Any info is most appreciated. Thanks Mike

I have the Suntwin which is the same thing but has an oak exterior. I like it a lot. All the electric heaters put out the same btu per watt but I think this is about the safest one there is. We use it to heat the main living area (1200 square feet or so) in the house, when it gets too cold for the heat pump (<42 degrees) It's able to hold 73 inside way down into the teens to low teens outside. We have R19 walls and R42 ceilings. Ours paid for itself in one season versus propane...mostly because we are not heating the whole house.

Cost to run is 12 cents an hour based on a 8 cent KW. Add a little for the quartz tubes which will have to be replaced at some point (for us, about 8-10 years)

PS: This would be a lousy choice for a garage. Not enough btu capacity to heat a cold garage from scratch.

Assuming the garage is insulated, then yes, they could probably do that in 800 sf of space, assuming big doors aren't opened a lot where you are starting from scratch several times a day..... if not insulated, I don't think they would help much at all.
