I see what you mean. If I had personal shipping account with UPS/FedEx, then it would have been 1.26. Regular shipping, UPS Ground, for me is 19.52. Yeah, this is no good. I will have to ask at work and see if they will let me ship to work, assuming they have My UPS/FedEx account.Nice deal, but shipping for me is $19.81

How is this a deal? Basic manual desoldering pumps start at $3-$4 in (specialty) stores. The cheapest sell for $0.99 on FleaBay, shipping from China included.
It is a deal because you are getting brand name product with something like 50 years of reputation behind it.
All those cheap 99 cent Chinese knockoffs are copies of these Edsyn products. The problem with Chinese is that they don't have the Edsyn's quality. If you desolder something two or three times a year, then Chinese stuff is fine.
If you do small to medium production, you will want something better, like this Edsyn product.
Basically it comes down to the question: How much desoldering do you do?
Also Edsyn shipping charge is horrible. If you can use My UPS/FedEx account, then shipping is really low.

Agreed - some are worse, some are much better.
For anything more than infrequent use, you will want a vacuum desolderer. These won't hold up to production use, and they don't have enough suction.
Edsyn is likely clearancing these because no one buys them. Those who do want a manual pump buy a lower cost higher quality metal import pump.
I suspect the charge listed is Edsyn's service charge, and the shipping charges are billed to the account. That's how they did it last time we ordered from them.
