I have the carbon shaft model.

If you are really tall, be careful. I am 6'5" and it's a back killer. I grabbed a Darwin Grip handle and it helped a ton.

The power, feeding, string loading, and weight are all awesome. I use the 2.5ah battery it came with the 5 can work, but it's way out of balance with the 7.5

I just got the carbon shaft version, one level down w/o the IQ auto-feed.
I though the larger battery & balance not to my liking on the IQ-feed model.
So far, so good. I auto feed with only 1-string coming out of the hub; used for edging grass.

Only wished the variable speed trigger had a lower minimum speed for detail trimming/corners etc.

The lack of a variable (squeeze) speed control is the only beef I have with their mower, but now I've mainly gotten used to it and extremely happy overall. If I see a good enough bundle I'll probably move my Kobalt 80v blower and trimmer and go with Ego, though my understanding is they use a proprietary connector for attachments, which displeases me. My edger and pole saw attachments have been very handy, and I'm loathe to re-invest there...

I'm surprised about your comment regarding the trigger. Mine runs quite slow on a light trigger pull

I have looked the EGO trimmer and see they have attachments, is their attachment system proprietary or is it a universal setup like my Ryobi? I have a Ryobi gas trimmer that I use a tiller attachment on and wonder if it would fit the EGO and if the EGO would power it.

Ego string trimmer aficionados, do you like one of the single purpose trimmers or the multi tool attachment?
I went single purpose.

I really don't need the attachments, so simplicity was the goal and the cost was better. I also have their hedge trimmer
