Picked up this pair last spring and didn't think much of them(didn't realize the jaw was removable, didn't mess with it much) then got these jaws in a recent lot and spent a day trying to figure out what they were for thinking they were for something like a plumbers wrench.

Still don't understand this jaw though.

This last jaw is for spreading things apart. In the first picture, you are missing the small metal piece that holds the tubing for the tubing cutter jaw. I posted a picture it in one of the other threads about this tool.
Couldn't find any info on what it'd be for spreading apart and that's where the confusion is. Doesn't seem like it'd do anything I can think of well.

Might have the cutter piece but I have to go through a crate of misc fittings and odd bits that came out of the box the jaws were in to see. Chances are it's lost with the pliers that weren't with the lot.

That makes the most sense to me. Note the internal wire cutter blade has been ground off from the lever/handle, I guess to make space for the unusual spring. The pin of through the external metal band prevents the handle from shifing out of the dynamic jaw gear, so the jaw cannot be swapped out. Those are intentional mods for some functional purpose. The modified jaws (the permanant one, too) are angled, and definitely specialized, like for pulling a rimmed cylinder, but what? The decal probably held the best clue to an answer.:sad:ECDDE384-7AD4-4783-BEE1-99C44D5540E1.jpegD17B07D2-679E-4F78-9E42-37DB83CDB4C7.jpegWith the static jaw similarly modified, these are special purpose, begging the question: what is “C.E. GEN USE”

Has anyone discovered the purpose of these weird jaws? I just picked up a pair and haven't been able to find anything else about them, other than this ebay listing for another pair. They are most intriguing.

I was looking over some of my tools that are disorganized due to moving and found a desk drawer with some of my Eifel Plierenches. I noticed that the early and late jaws don't interchange because the gear on the early are diagonal and later are straight across. So, if you find spare jaws for your Eifel Plierench, check out the teeth to make sure they are compatible.

Often missing is the metal clip that fits on the stationary jaw when using the tubing cutting jaw, so here's pictures of the clip and the tubing cutting jaw.

Picked up this pair recently.
7” and 8 1/2” Plierench with the canvas bag and extra jaws. I haven’t cleaned and derusted yet.

Here’s a pair of extra jaws picked up while in Portland a weekend ago. No sign of other jaws or pliers. No pix of the full current sets.

I picked up a pair of Eifel Flash Plierench today.

53884302852_96acbccf46_b.jpg

Early model with the slanted gearing. I took me a bit of fiddling in the shop to figure out how the adjustment works.

8 1/2"--These things weigh a ton. Not gonna be an EDC tool.

Now begins the search for the other jaws.

I found two jaws for these wrenches when we were cleaning out my wife's grandfather's estate... they're the old ones, with angled rather than straight gears.

I hate to toss them in the garbage, but there were no pliers and no other jaws so they're useless to me...

If anyone who has a plierench wants them, you can have them for the cost of postage. DM me.

Update: New home found.

I'd be on those in a red hot minute if one of my three pair of "earlier" sets had the angle gears....

If no one else jumps I'll take them anyway because someday...

Jaws will be headed to @LesserSon as soon as I find time to get them in the mail. He has some with the angled teeth.
A BIG thank you! to @hampster for the two jaws, which arrived last week.

They spent a few days under the tree, but tonight I cleaned them up and introduced them to three Plierenches.
IMG_7994.jpeg
So now I can configure the three Plierenches to each have a different-type jaw

or each the same-type jaw.

Awwwe! Thanks for these photos.

My wife and kids were laughing at how I always say I don't have enough time and yet I couldn't bear to toss "junk" so I took the time to find a stranger on the Internet and mail them to him... Glad to be reminded that others out there enjoys ol' tools like I do.

Here are some jaws I picked up at the Alameda Flea market early December. Didn't realize it at the time that there were two different jaw sets represented, but once I did, figured I knew somewhere I could probably sell them.

Turns out I already had both straight and angled jaw tools in house, so no harm there. The one wire bending jaw isn't sliding out of the jaw like it should, I have to tap it out. But it works. At some point I do need to get a family photo of all the pliers, sets, and extra jaws together, but today isn't that day.

The four new jaws

The teeth view on the three angled jaws, I wonder if there are two different pipe jaws due to the different tooth patterns.
PXL_20260125_022823421-X4.jpg

And the inside of the jaw on the straight toothed one. Seems a bit worn, which surprises me. Will need to check the others later.
