elec heater wiring ?

If I wanted to install one of the farenheat heaters roughly 16-18' from the outlet and wire usinga cord/plug setup what gauge wire would be appropriate--i.e. dryer cord type wiring.

yes, 5000w fuh-54 I believe. So 10g is acceptablely safe for this extended run? Moving the available recepticle isnt really an option but locating the heater near it is a long distance from my central work area. Does the unit put out enough heat that the heater remaining 16' + from my work area would even matter?

Well, a 240 volt, 5Kw heater would draw just over 21 amps. 10 AWG would work (if the run is not too long.) Breaker for 30 amps.
