never heard of the brand, but i'm no electrician so who knows. personally, i'd just buy a new panel. that way you know you'll be able to get breakers down the road. here's a 100 amp panel from home depot.

Not much more, and comes with 5 20 amp breakers. Also, the one you listed is only 8 spaces. Not nearly enough in my opinion. If it was my I'd buy the largest (most number of spaces) 100 amp panel I could find. Especially if you plan on running any 240v circuits. You'll fill that little panel up really quick, then wish you spent a little extra money in the first place, vs buying another panel and moving stuff around.

sure its more money, but a relatively small price to pay in the long run. and the QO is supposed to be a bit more heavy duty than the homeline (though I've installed 2 homeline panels and never had any issues with either).

Bryant is old old old. In any case, Cutler Hammer bought out Bryant, and the CH "BR" series breakers are the old Bryant line. Bryant breakers also fit (though may not be legal) in Siemens, GE, westinghouse and Murray panels. Siemens breakers fit the Bryant panels also.(again, may not be legal), but CH "BR" breakers are legal replacements for the Bryant panel.

$40 seems kinda high for a used eight space breaker panel and a bunch of old, used breakers. For $100 to $125 you can buy a new 200 amp panel as a contractor pack with a number of breakers.

Edit: I edited my reference to Murray out of the text. Murray was acquired by Siemens and is still operated as Murray. Not related to Bryant as I initially suggested.

Not a garage, but when I had my basement redone, they added a second panel very similar to the one you show. I didn't pay much attention at the time, and as you see, there are knockouts on the panel which cannot be used, just a generic cover.
Years later, I wanted to add another breaker, and opened up the panel to find it was already fully populated. The friggin' electrician who did the basement work bought the cheapest panel, fully populated it, and the carpenters sealed up the wall around it.
If he had asked, I would have popped for the extra bucks to add future capability, he never gave me the chance.
Moral of the story, get a bigger panel.

For $60 at HD or Lowes you can buy a Square D or a Siemens 100 Amp breaker box in a value pack that includes the 100 amp main breaker, one-30 amp 240v & five-20 amp 120v breakers. Go with something like this and you will be way ahead.
