Electric garage door lock

Saw the video 6 seconds to break-in to a garage. I was wondering if the electric lock from liftmaster jack shaft lift could be used to secure the door. Does anyone know what voltage the liftmaster locks are? I assume they are 24vdc.

Over here....
Even worse...

A recent garage door break in on my block was made easy by the homeowner. They keep the spare opener in the car parked in the driveway. The thieves merely broke into the car (no alarm) and pressed the GDO and viola! In like flint! And of course the homeowner didn't have a deadbolt lock on the house entrance door from the garage either.

You can only slow them down, folks. They look for easy targets!

Depending on how tall you are, and depending on how high your door opener is mounted, you may be able to simply remove the pull rope. I can easily reach the latch on mine without it.

As stated above, your biggest risk is a non adjusted door, and also leaving a car outside with a garage door opener remote in it!

I parked my old jeep outside for a year with a garage remote in it, no locks on the doors, and thankfully never had a problem, but when I got in that jeep and found that garage door opener remote I was really humbled.

All of the security you have is for nothing if you leave the keys outside!
