Electric garage door stop

My repair shop has a 12 foot shop door. The door opens by using the one button electric door opener or the 3 button control unit on wall.
My issue is in the winter time the door travels all the way up when we hit the remote, there is no way to stop it at any one spot. It would be nice to have a spot were it would allow a pickup or van in without traveling up 12 feet.

I was once told we could install a summer or winter switch in channel and the door will flip a switch

any ideas thanks

You could adjust the limit switch to only open the door to 7 foot all the time. What do you have that needs the 12 foot door opening.

Many commercial openers have a mid stop feature... cant think of a residential one that does though...
