Electric garage heater wire question

I ordered a Vevor garage heater electric 5000w unit. I have a 240v plug on my ceiling in previously for a heater. I had one that was fine but it was to put on the floor and I put it on a pile of stock temporarely. Now, I want to install the new one permanently. I asked Vevor if I can use a 6 feet wire with plug instead of hard wiring as it's supposed. They told me, "yes with a 250v 30a plug and 3c* 12awg wire." But, I can't find it. My question is: can I use a 10awg wire with the same plug recommanded that is available on Amazon?

I have read that we can't use wire 12 with a 30a breaker. But, that concern the wire that comes from my panel to the socket plug, right? Thanks

5000 watts at 240 volts is 20.8 amps.

#12 is good for 20 amps, #10 is 30.

While #12 would be ok even though it's slightly overloaded, I'd use #10.
3 conductor #12 SJO/SJTO cordage with only 2 ccc is good for 25A. Since a continuous load, conductors have to be sized @ 125% FLAs = 26A.
Mfr instructions call out #10 which is the correct choice.

The permanent receptacle wiring has to be rated for 30A, so #10 min.

The Code addresses the size of the conductors feeding the receptacle.

The manufacturer can address the size of the cord connecting the heater to the receptacle. As an example my welder that needs a minimum of a 50 amp receptacle was shipped with a 12 Gauge supply cable. That can work because of the Demand Factor.

If the mfr provides the attachment cord and the equistment is listed with that cord provided, then NEC stops at the recept.

When no cord is provided but desired, NEC requirements must be used.

An intermittent welder load is different than a continuous heater load and so the wiring requirements are different.
