Electric gear reduction motor

My brother has an electric motor on the boom on his work truck, it failed; water entered the case and the subsequent rust caused the magnets to heave from the epoxy holding them in.

He brought the motor to a couple repair shops but they could not repair it as the bolts holding the motor case to the gear reduction casting were seized into the cast, he was able to get them inside Ed and get the case off. He has now decided to try and repair it himself?

From his description to me and my understanding he just needs to epoxy the magnets back in place? His question to me that I could not answer, Is there a specific orientation to the magnets as in (north ,south poles) I will include some photos that he sent me. in my opinion I believe he could just epoxy the magnets back in mirroring the other magnets that are still existing in the case I can see some markings on the magnets that should help them orient them accordingly but your opinions would be appreciated.

The magnets need to be replaced in the same orientation that they were in originally and probably with the same clearance to the rotor. It can be a real pain to get them in just right without them moving due to magnetism.

I've done this in a few starter motors and a couple magnetos. YES, the magnets MUST be oriented correctly. Sand and clean the surface and use original JB Weld. Clamp them in place with simple spring clamps, DO NOT try locking pliers as you will break the magnet. Clean up the copper where the brushes ride with some 400 grit paper or emery cloth and clean with brake cleaner. Lube those bearings too.
