I'm looking to upgrade some of my electric sanding equipment, as I do more and more woodworking, cabinet and furniture projects for the house. For a long time now I've got along OK with an older Craftsman Random Orbital Sander. Even though I've logged a lot of hours using it, I still find it very finicky and prone to leaving swirl and spiral marks on my wood projects and surfaces. Those then get to be very troublesome dealing with later on in trying to make them fully disappear.

Dust collection on it is pretty poor, and I often have to take breaks when sanding due to the dust cloud, even with wearing a mask....

I'd like to augment my go-to sanders for basic surface prep work on panels and pieces with some better machines. Are there any recommendations from here?

Units I'm considering:

Triton TGEOS 6" RO

Festool ETS 125 RO

Festool LS 130

a linear sander that would be able to access a lot of the areas the RO can't due to size

Any others I should be looking at as solid units? Looking for good dust collection, controllability/vibration, and preventing swirl marks. Also looking at these as more finish sanders rather than coarse since I have my old sander and numerous other tools for coarse removal.

If you're looking at festool go ahead and look at metabo and fein as well. Metabo offerings are very nice
