I'm nearing the end of my little garage build in SE Pennsylvania (18'x24'), and have started to shop heaters to make working in the garage a little more comfortable. Heater will be ceiling mounted (9').
Back story how I came to this decisions: after comparing the cost of doing propane forced air (no NG) @ $2.65/Gallon to running electric heat @~$0.11/KWH, I decided electric was the way to go. My goal is to keep the shop just above freezing during the winter when i'm not working in there, so hence the need for a decent thermostat.
I've read where people have modified the Dayton G37's to use a traditional thermostat, but outside of that, is ther anything else that is available? Was originally leaning towards a cheap mini-split system, but if I can find something that would work well, I'd rather go this route.
Thanks!
