Does anyone leave theirs plugged in 24/7?

I am looking at one of the Ceiling mounted units with remote thermostat but was concerned about having to watch it. My garage and doors are well insulated.

My real goal is to make the room above less frigid but detailing cars in 50 degrees is a hell of a lot better than 20!

Thanks
J

I leave my 5000w Comfort Zone heater on all the time. It"s hardwired in. I have it on the 3000w setting with the thermostat at about 1/4 the way up. It keeps my 384sqft. insulated garage at about 12C (54F) degrees all winter. Seems safe so far.

Used to have a 4000w construction heater hung from the ceiling plugged into a receptacle and I would never leave it unattended. Went inside the house once for about an hour and came out to find the heater had been running the whole time and the thermostat wouldn't work until I shut the power off and let it cool, then it worked again.
That was the deciding factor in buying a new heater designed for the application.

I don't like the built in thermostats. In my garage I have a 4000 watt cadet the hot one heater. It has a built in thermostat but it's not consistent and hard to set it super low to keep the garage at 40-45 when I am not in there. My heater plugs in so I ran the power to a box and installed a line voltage thermostat then went up to the box with the plug for the heater. The thermostat I got is only $15

Anyone come up with a way to time electric heat to come on more at night than the day time? Our electric rates are cheapest from 7pm to 7am I believe during the winter months..... This is for the people who are keeping their garage heated all winter.

I used an Arduino and a big contactor to charge my leaf!
