How good is your insulation?

I'm doing about 1200 sq ft with a Fahrenheat, only 5000 watts but have real good insulation. On the low setting it stays 60 degrees running about 10 minutes every 1/2 hour. Current outside temp is 30's during the day and 10's at night. I leave it at 60 degrees, 24/7.

It's probly made in china, that's what turned me off. The fahrenheat 5000 takes care of my 700sq ft and its made in the USA.

For a little more money I would go with the Fahrenheit, it will take care of that sq ft with no problem, especially since you have insulation

Been traveling for work so I haven't completed the installation of my 7500 watt Fahrenheat unit. I got it because it is rated at 7500 but can be wired to a lower amp. I have a well insulated attached 2 car garage.

I have the farenheat 7500 I just bought for my garage. It has been in the teens here and finally decided to bight the bullet.

The garage is 24x 26 with 17' cielings. One side is wide open and 1 side has a loft up top. I have r19 in the walls and r30 in the ceiling.

I just hooked up the heater the other day. The garage temp was 30 degrees. I turned the heater on at a low setting . I left for 2 hours and when I came back the temp was 42 . The heater had also shut off and wasn't coming back on. I am confident this will heat my garage easily. I am just not sure what it will cost.

In general, it will cost the same as any other electric heater. To get your garage from 30 to 42 is some number of watts. Your 7.5 KW heater just spits out watts faster than a 5.0 KW heater. Unless you have a demand portion of your bill, the energy is the same.

Here in the north center top of Illionis we has some of the highest electrical rate in the lower 48 states, No way could you pay to heat a garage off of Com Ed power. Right now I use LPG ( 20# grill tanks) and a 35,000BTU box heater, only run it when I want to work out there. If it is below 32deg. out side I can get the side of the gargage I am working in up to 60's if I let it run all the time I'am out there.
Maybe some day I will get a New garage/shop and have a NG heater in it.
