Electric Impact wrench

After 9 years my home use impact, It wont work no more.
(Craftsman 19.2 ),
I took it apart ohm the switch contacts, no continuity. I looked for a replacement switch, at $80 dollars (US)
I have decided not to fix, and cut my losses and replace with either a Milwaukee or IR?
Any recommendations?
I had bad luck with Snap On, I have 14v light fail, then it was warrantied, that one last 2 weeks before it fail to turn on.
I was thinking i have few drills 19.2, that i dont use, could swap the switch/trigger assembly? and there is idea of using push start button from car.

Did you check here for parts? They have fair prices, bought a few things from them.
At the very least you could possibly cross check the drill/impact triggers.

I looked they have no parts, anyway I going with Milwaukee
It stronger than Craftsman I had

If it’s is old it could be corrosion on the contacts
Try some contact cleaner

i like my kobalt impacts. i have the big 1/2" and the 3/8" plus a 1/4" impact driver and the drill. 1/2" has enough grunt for all but the most stuck of nuts (i'm talking standing on 3' cheater pipe type stuck) and the 3/8" makes running on lugnuts quick and easy.

They just released a 3/8 version of that also.. if you get a 5.0 battery you will notice increased power with that too.

I bought the HF Earthquake impact, it was on sale and I had a coupon. A friend of mine bought one and said it was incredibly powerful. He wasn’t kidding, I rotated the tires on my superduty and used it. That thing blew the lug nuts off so fast it made me wonder if they were even tight. Thr next big test for it will be to see if it can remove a flywheel gland nut from an aircooled veedub those torque on at 217ftlbs and then the rear axle nut those are torqued to 253ftlbs, if it can remove those then I consider it a good buy. The next test will be the longevity of it but so far I’m impressed with the fit and finish of it as it doesn’t look like a cheap Chinese made tool.

Not much fan of hf tools. The only thing I would buy of them would be hand tools or other tools like creeper ect

That's exactly what I did a few months ago. I used the snot out of my C3 impact over the last decade and it's not nearly as strong as it used to be, that's tough only being rated at 200 Ft-Lbs.

I went w/ the Milwaukee 2663-80 (edit: had the wrong number) from CPO outlets and I also bought a refurb kit so I had the drill, hackzall, 1/4" impact and a light. Even though my C3 drills were still in good shape I wanted everything to match and the price was reasonable with a sale they had going on.

I LOVE the hackzall. I'm very happy w/ the M18 line overall and have now become obsessed w/ Milwaukee's power tools. Everything about them feels like it's built better than my old rattly craftsman stuff. I recently added an M12 rachet that's better than I expected as well.

Ave did a teardown review on youtube, its exceptionally well made.

top notch too.

Its not the old HF.
