I posted this in general tools but got no replies so I moved to here. I inherited this Black & decker impact many years ago, the model number is unreadable on it. The serial number is a bit hard to see but it looks like 3182131. It seems to work fine but I've been unable to use it because it appears to need some kind of hex type bit hoping someone can shed some light on this

Seems like a 1/2" allen wrench would fit in it, although I don't have one that size. The knurled end pulls out,(it's spring loaded) as to lock a bit or chuck in, just as the screw guns of today do
