I just moved into a different house recently and I am trying to use a Husky electric pressure washer to do some light cleaning. I have two of these pressure washers, one I just keep around for spare parts (its pressure hose burst) in case the newer one breaks.

I plugged in the newer pressure washer and it worked for about 5 minutes before it shut off and there was no light on the GFCI plug even though it was plugged in. I tried it in other outlets, and no go. I then plugged in my older pressure washer, transferred the pressure hose over, and it worked fine for a couple of uses. I just recently tried the new one again and it worked fine for about an hour and then stopped and tripped the breaker. I decided its junk and put it aside. I just tried the old one again and no matter what outlet I plug it into in m house, GFCI outlet or not, the GFCI plug trips repeatedly. It just keeps clicking.

I have never had an electric issue with either of these pressure washers before and at this point I feel like it has something to do with the wiring in my house. Any idea what the cause could be or how to solve it?

Thanks

One is assuming the GFCI on the power cord of the unit is the one that blows??? Or the outlet on the house?

Please clarify ".... old one again and no matter what outlet I plug it into in m house, GFCI outlet or not, the GFCI plug trips repeatedly."

I would get a tester for your outlets and check that.

The plug from the pressure washer itself, is repeatedly clicking.

Is the "normal" gfci fed from the gfci outlet?

Hijack: I had a couple circuits tied together back at the breaker while I was waiting to replace the panel. If I ran my welder in a gfci in the shop, it would trip the gfci in the kitchen. Completely separate circuits, other then they shared a breaker in the panel.
