My shop is the third stall of three car garage and is partially walled off from the rest of the garage. I have a NG Reznor in the double stall area and cove heaters in the shop. The Reznor is pointed at the walkway between shop and garage. I will put in a sliding door between the two someday so wanted separate heat sources and already had the cove heaters so I installed them.

I don't get a ton of shop time so I don't leave them running all the time. They would take a long time to heat up that area if I didn't have the Reznor running at the same time. I'm not sure they'd be my first choice if starting from scratch. But then again I'm not sure what would be, assuming radiant floor heat wasn't an option.

Do a search on "Fastback" he is a regular poster here that has a very successful electric radiant system in a garage about your size. He has several threads that show the system in detail.
