Hi, new member here! I am just starting to finish out my garage and do not have gas easily available. Does anyone have suggestions on electric unit heaters? I am looking for something to is able to have a conventional thermostat hooked up. Dimensions are roughly 24' x 26' w/ 9.5' height. R-49 in ceiling and R-21 in walls. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Here in mn, running 7500w of heat raises my 1,000 sq ft high ceiling well insulated garage (r38 ceiling, r19 wall, r6 door) by about 5-10 degrees f per hour. Not too bad, but it is not like a gas unit heater. Better to turn on 2 hours before you go out to the garage than to turn it on when you get out there...

The garage is unheated normally, and just parking 2 daily drivers in it keeps it above freezing normally. Flip on the heater, and it is at 45-50 in under 2 hours, and the heater cycles to keep at that temp. I put on a sweatshirt and work in it at 50 in the winter. Warm enough for me.
