Electric vehicle garage design ideas

After two looong years my new house is almost done. The garage has a large window into it from the inside of the house so you can see directly into the space. We have two teslas and I've put the Chargers up. I'm thinking of putting race deck down on the concrete floor but wondered if any of you had suggestions for cool things to do either from a functional point of view or for the appearances to highlight the EV side of it. First post here so appreciate any advice to a newbie.

I'd be getting some custom signs made up in the style and font of the old enamel gas station signs. Instead of Shell or Exxon , get the text to say Amps and Electrons.

An electric motorcycle or two.

Maybe some cool automated LED lighting.

I really like epoxy floors and if you get a professional in to do them, you can get really creative with metallic flakes, etc. Coupled with some upgraded lighting from above, it could look really cool.

You could also paint some inductive charging pads in to the floor and send Elon a tweet telling him that you are waiting for an upgrade...

I would be tempted to see how the wireless charging mats work out and how to easily accommodate them.

Maybe get a box on the wall to keep the charging cords in.

Could you route/ mount the charging cords on overhead pull down reels to get them off the floor?

What part he country are you in?

I'm doing product dev, for next gen electrics and hybrids, but we don't supply Tesla, so I recommend you ditch the T's, buy a VIA truck and a Lightning Racing motorcycle. Thay way I can hook up up with some swag.



Seriously though, some cool High Voltage signage would be really slick.

The design aspect of the Tesla would lend itself well to either a retro-futute or ultra modern motif.

For the retro-futute style, some post war vintage high voltage signs, electric company or SCIENCE! class signage in metal would be fun and cool, and it would give you some flexibility with colors. Art deco, or post war industrial cabinetry would look slick. Check out the early Tomorrow Land pictures.

For ultra modern, stick with gray scale imagery, concrete, polished metal, high gloss paint, etc. With nice clean angles and lines. Black and white images would look really slick. Pictures of electric racers. Your cars patent prints, etc.


In both cases you can also do some cool stuff with images or patent prints of Nichola Tesla.

Two Teslas - Elon should send you at least a banner or a neon sign.

Those would make my garage complete and then some.

Ask a higher up at your dealership and/ or call Tesla and ask for some wall decor posters, banners, whatever.

Ya seriously, what with buying two of them, they should hook you up w something.

Maybe a wall mounted iPad or flat panel display to show the charge status of the Teslas or that you can use to activate the summon feature?
