Electrical box with vinyl siding mount block

First time working with one of these vinyl siding mount blocks for a light fixture. Is there a standard electrical box to use with the mount. I can either use a 1.5" surface mount box or install a plastic box on the inside of the building then install a 1.5" extension box ontop. Does it matter or is anyway better then the other? Thanks

if I recall correctly on my garage I used a 1-1/2" box cut in to the sheathing , flush with the light mount and screwed to a backer. wrapped in poly

I wish I knew about these before I just places an order in with supplyhouse.

We use pan boxes screwed on the surface of the plywood or OSB. We come into the back of the box with the wire, secured with a 4040 connector. Don’t come into the center knockout though, or the wire will be in the way of the fixture mounting bar. Keep in mind only one nmd90 is allowed in a pan box.
