The drafts person that did our garage drawings kinda screwed the pooch on how the electrical was to go. So now I trying to get it squared away with plan review. The reviewer is asking for a one line diagram that shows the Main Panel, Sub-Panel, over current protection devises, wiring method and wire size. I not an electrician by trade but fairly proficient at getting things done myself. Can anybody give me a better explaination on what he's asking for?

thx matt

This is for a residential garage? That's a bit ridiculous to require a 1-line, IMO. 1-lines are common in commercial, industrial work where there's actually something to show on the 1-line. You'll basically have a box representing your main panel, with a description of what it is, voltage, ampacity, etc., and a line going to another box representing your subpanel in garage, with the same info for it. Add a line showing the ground rods, and info on the conductors/conduit for that and the feeder to the garage and that should do it.
