I'm finding out now why I have read on here to put SEVERAL outlets in your garage ceiling. I put 27 wall outlets in my walls, so no problem there. I only put 3 in the ceiling.......big mistake!! Two of them were for the openers, and I only put one other one. My ceiling lights are hard wired, so I didnt think I would need any others. I already have ceiling installed, and am running extension cords across my ceiling for some other lights. I also didn't put any outlets high up on the walls, but I can fix that (and will) before I insulate and OSB my walls. This is a very good site, with lots of good advice from people who have been there and done that. Please listen to lots of the advice here........as I will start doing better myself.

I put outlets in the house at 14" and 4' in the garage. There is to much stuff to block outlets down low. Not sure, but sparks could be a concern in a garage with gas vapor too.

My outlets are 40 inches off the floor in the garage. I wish I had put some close to the sealing on the walls, for clocks and different things like that.
