I am builing a 32 x 40 building in the rear of my lot. I would like to have a 100 amp panel acting as a sub-panel from my house.

The home is currently a 200 amp panel. To accomplish this I must run a electrical wire underground rougly 100 ft. Is their a method to determine the wire size needed due to the ampridge loss of the 100 ft run?

Thanks
Jason

It depends on the load, 100 amps isn't the load. In 100ft I'd run #1 aluminum and not worry about it
