Electrical Switch question

Hey Guys,

so im updating the wiring and lighting in my shop.. i have purchased levitan lighted switches ( for the lights ) im reading on the package that they are not compatible with LED lighting...

whats the story here ?

They most likely let a little bit of current pass through so the switch lights up but it's enough current to make LED lights do weird things.

The lighted switches use a neon tube to glow when the switch is open. This passes a tiny bit of current through the lights. If all of your lights are LED, there is a possibility that the lights may flicker or even stay lit, when you want them to be off. But I've found that many LED bulbs deal with this just fine.

It will probably depend on how many lights you have on the switch. With 1 or 2 smallish light bulbs you'd probably get some flickering. If you have 100+ watts of shop LEDs, then it will probably work fine. No guarantee though, different LEDs react differently to this sort of thing.
