I have three man door lights that I need to install the boxes for. Do I just push the wire back inside the hole and use a hole saw to cut it out?

Is there a trick so I don’t ruin the wire?

What size hole saw?

What kind of box?

I know I could do some research and find out but I’m lazy.

my thought too, trace the box and use a scroll saw ('cause I don't have a rotozip) use as short a blade as you can and still get through the sheathing.

Depending on the fixture, you might be able to get away with just mounting a surface mount pancake box.

Sometimes it looks better to cut a rectangular block of say 5/4 board and recess it into the siding. Counter sink the pancake box in the 5/4 board so the pancake box is flush with the outside edge of the 5/4 board. Make the 5/4 block dimensions based on the light you're installing.

Light blocks are a good idea. Pancake boxes aren't.

If you use a block, be sure to flash and caulk it for water
