Electricians: Load center mounting height

Is there a spec height for mounting a load center on the wall. I'm putting in a 40 slot Sq D load center and I was going to have the bottom of the enclosure 4' above the floor. Interior wall height is 14' in a shop building. Thanks for replies.

Main breaker/highest breaker can be no higher than 6'7".

4' from the floor is most likely just fine.

Behind an in swing door can be a good place as it prevents blocking the floor in front of the panel

When I was mounting mine I found this.

The National Electrical Code (NEC) dictates that the center of the operating handle of the highest circuit breaker in a load center should be no more than 6 feet 7 inches (2.0 meters) above the floor or working platform.

The bottom of mine is 4ft due to the height of the girt and I recessed mounted it.
Never knew there was a code for it. I would have probably went 3 to 6 inches lower because I have Zachius syndrome. Lol

I reckon he was a small/short guy...

Is that just for the main or is it the highest breaker? We have to be 6'7" or lower to the highest breaker and the panel could be bottom fed with the main at the bottom.

Actually I measured just for the heck of it and the 42 space main breaker is 6'-2" .

I don't believe there is a code for how low the panel is only how high
