Glad to hear that it is working now! An S8050 transistor is a NPN so the ones I sent you should have worked. Most were lower power than the ‘50 but one was in its range…

And the ‘scope looks great for $40.

Now the next dilemma... my original track is in better condition. Some of the white plastics are yellowed on the new piece. Dare I unsolder the wires and swap the boards over. :lol:

Anyway barring any other comments this will conclude the show in this thread.

Take photo’s of both prior to dissection. I always try to confirm the wire numbers / colors are the same points. Too many times I’ve seen it called out by color on the print but I have doesn’t have those colors on my assembly. Point to point notes clean that up.
Excellent job and you increased your diagnostic tools, knowledge, and working toy!
