We are going to be building a 50x75x18 by the end of the year. We thought of incorporating an elevated living space on the north side of the building. It would be 20x75x8/12?
I'm trying to figure out how to plan the floor part of it. The building will have 3 25' bays, and to be able to use the space UNDER the elevated area, I wanted to keep it 3 bays as well, with only 2 columns needed. That is going to make it 25' spans.
I'm just trying to figure out what kind of lumber I'm going to need to support a 25' span. I'm guessing LVLs bolted together.
Any suggestions?
