Elevator Thread

I didn't find an elevator thread upon searching. So here it goes.
Anyone build an elevator to a loft or attic that they want to show off? I'm thinking that I should have made my loft larger, and plan to expand it this winter in my shop. But heavier stuff may deserve an elevator instead of my wrestling them up the stairs.
So what have you built?
And yes I know....I will have a structural engineer review all plans and sign off and have a notary notarize the sign off and a priest bless it. Well, no I won't. But I did stay in a Holiday Inn once.

If you do a search, you should be able to find that topic, there have been a few threads. Looks like unistrut and the roller glide blocks they have is one way to do it, combined with an electric winch.

I have a loft platform in the back-half of a 2-car garage I use for storage. It's not stand-up height, I kept the original garage height and added the loft. It was designed by your eponymous structural engineer, and is capable of bearing the weight of a car, if I could get it up-there. That wasn't the reason I built it. There are no stairs, it is accessed by a ladder, and heavy/bulky objects by the jib crane, to-which I adapted an electric winch, 120 V, rated at 2,000 lb. as-is the jib crane.

The jib crane is through-bolted to a 4" X 8" X 1/2" steel box beam at one end, with 3/4" grade 8 fasteners there and to the floor joists on the side of the steel box supporting the mounting flange of the jib crane.

Instead of an elevator, how about a chain hoist? Mine is on a trolley track that overhangs the loft edge, and I put lift rings on the balance points of heavier stuff (my snowblower is pushing 300lbs, and goes up with ease.
