A thread on this forum once pointed me to the best hose reel.
It was a gift for my wife a couple of years ago (I'm still alive to say that out loud) and she loves it. Easy to use and indestructible.
They are available on a black Friday sale.
Buy once, cry once, take the Eley reel with you when you move to your next house like I did.

+1 on Eley. Absolutely the best water couplings I've used. All others leak, but my Eley's are going strong and dry!

OK, I'll bite. Bought one of the post mount setups. I hope I don't like it too much, because I will have to knock off a few 7-Elevens to cover the 3 more I have a place for.

Every year about this time there is a thread like this and I have always wondered whether a hose reel can really be THAT good, there are always a large group that loves them. I do have tools that bring me pleasure every time I use them, I am hoping the Eley does that as well-because I never imagined spending so much on such a simple product.

I started with one hose reel about 3 years ago for front yard watering and car wash duty. They are so vastly better in use than HD/Lowe's reels that I had to get another the following year to keep in the back yard.

Would i be doing myself a disservice by not getting their hose as well? I already have several hoses, but need a new reel. Wasnt sure if there is any magic when both are combined, or if any decent hose will work leak free

I saw a few people mentioning that they were going to buy one and then look to buy another later. I'm a frugal one so take this as you will, buy however many you would have installed once it's all said and done. These things are great (as others have attested to), their CS is top notch to boot. I could be wrong but I don't recall them having a BF sale last year and sales through the year seem to be few and far between. Also with inflation going like it is one can only imagine what they'll be running next year.

I have the 4 wheel version, it was great but like another person said you take it when you move.... new house didn't have a spot for that but with their CS telling me what I needed to convert it to the wall mount it was back in service. Now thanks to this thread I have the other two hose bib squared away. Thx!

Holy moley. Package arrived. I had no idea I was buying a Heathkit. It seems like extremely well made parts, but for the price I think they could have thrown in some assembly. I'm doing a post mount, but it's been in the 20's outside for the last few days... a little too cold to be pouring concrete to set a post. Maybe next week.

Just checking, you know they will freeze and pop, right?

Weather cleared, post is in the ground, reel is up. I should have bought 2.

For those still in need, Eley is currently having a "Winter flash sale" ... 10%/15% sale on their stuff. 10% on hose reels, 15% on hose reel/hose bundles. Based on countdown clock on site, looks like it ends in 4 days.

Eley ALWAYS has a sale. So ----- essentially their "sale" price is their regular price. Their (BS) marketing plan is simple: charge ridiculous prices for "Made in China" goods and then make it sound like a good deal by having a "sale."

Hey they are on sale now. 20%.

The website seems clear in several areas that the hoses are made in the USA. Reels, accessories, etc in China.

I was going to order some quick connects and a short feeder hose last week. Glad I waited. This sale is a better deal. (y)

Too bad I bought my second hose reel and (3) 100' hoses a couple of months ago.:(
