Embedding a google spreadsheet

I am pretty tech savvy, but I am only getting an error message when I try to preview an embedded spreadsheet. Anyone have some pointers? Is this option actually working?
1. I published the spreadsheet in the google sheets
2. I extract what appears to be the 'file name' from the iframe code provided in the "embed" tab
3. I wrap it in gs /gs
4. I get "spreadsheets.google.com refused to connect" as below:

I tried to embed a sheet to test but it didn't work.

I saw some mentions on Google where this didn't work on other forums and they were able to fix it.

It appears Google may have changed the embed links from the original form used for the embed GS code.

What I see on Google Sheets doesn't match the vBulletin instructions.

So it seems the BBCode - Embed Google Documents Collection needs to be updated or could be a permissions problem on the hosting server account.
