Here I was expecting bottle caps on a strap, the original cheap replacement suggested in magazines from when I was a kid
I have some that are similar, not sure of the brand, and I like them a lot better than the spring type YakTrax. The YakTrax sort of wallow on smooth ice and with my poor balance I feel uncomfortable with them.
Right handy in a barroom brawl, too.^^ I think those are for stomping grapes. Lol.
Could you get that off your taxes as a work related tool?Right handy in a barroom brawl, too.
I used superglue the last time I had a sole come loose and it has done better than the contact cement I have used on other shoes in the past. They fit into the arch area, so the screws aren't really that prominent on the shoes. If they were much shorter, they wouldn't reach. My original plan was to run hex head sheet metal screws into the lugs of my logging boots, but the heels came unglued despite only having been worn a couple times. I'm hoping contact cement will stick 'em back on.
I have a pair of clamp on from Lee Valley, they have for little hex head screws for the grip.I replace a few ever once in a while, but that's easily done, that might work for youThey fit into the arch area, so the screws aren't really that prominent on the shoes. Close, but no sister.@LOW1 points awarded for the most redneck'y solution yet (seems almost like youve done it before)
remind me to stay outta your bar. I'm too old for those shenanigans.Right handy in a barroom brawl, too.
Me, too. "Putting the leather to them" (raking an opponent, who was already down, in the face, with caulk boots) was something I witnessed in my youth while drinking in logger bars in the PNW.remind me to stay outta your bar. I'm too old for those shenanigans.
I would have at least settled for a foot shaped plywood cutout with nails driven through.
