Emt offset bend from box?

I've used the bender you linked to about 50 yrs ago. Unless they changed the design, the first bend is completely made before the second even engages. The result is that the offset is taller than the bend between the back of the box and the KO.
It requires shimming the box's back, or canting the bend to either side.

I have the Current Tools version of that in both 1/2 and 3/4 and yes, the offset is too deep. I've found that only using about 3/4 of a stroke is perfect but I rarely use them. For the kickers to come out, it has to be a job where the is ceiling low enough that I can't bend the offset in the air.

That's the reason why I learned to bend my own with a hand bender.
(Up until that time I used Minerallacs).

^I'm a big fan of Caddy 812M's. The supply houses are pretty proud of them, but the time saved vs. bending box offsets or screwing around with the bolt or bolt and nut for minnies far outweighs the additional cost in my opinion.

And it looks like I need to buy a couple hundred from Zoro. The last two times I bought a 100 pack at the supply house it was $106 after tax.

Nice work Smintman. I’m in the same boat. I want it to look nice but don‘t have time to practice making bends or nor inclination to invest in the proper tool.

Like you, I bought the angled fittings so that the conduit would have a tight fit against the wall. Had to paint everything first though. Obsessive compulsive behavior I guess.
