Disclaimer: I'm not an electrician.
I have a GFCI outlet on the side of my garage in a box similar to this. The GFCI has a green LED that is ON, but I get no power to anything plugged into it. When I press test or reset, it doesn't click. All other outlets inside the garage work fine and none are GFCI. I assume the outlet is toast.
My question is...because it's in a box like in the link, can I replace it with one of the standard outlets I already have, or is that a not-so-good idea?
That leads me to another question...
Would this be a suitable replacement if I need to buy a new GFCI outlet?
