let me ask you, the 2 in 1 drivers (not pocket size) are they full size? i mean like the xcelite ones? and the snap on ones? I like the snap on one but VERY VERY expensive these days, the excelite is nice but hydraulic skydrol messes with it. I am still looking for a full size 2 in 1 screwdriver

I called in hopes of ordering some of the 2 in 1 drivers, for for now they are only making the pocket clip sized ones.

At least I can get the replacement bit I need, but want to find something else to order :D

I wish they had better package deals. They don't have the sizes I need in the packages they offer, and seem to only sell individuals in bulk?

Jeff, I wonder where you got those? :D I still have my yellow-handled one. It's a toughie.

Was at my local Fleet Farm tonight. They previously carried Enderes punches. With Enderes ramping up manufacturing I hoped to see a good selection of Enderes stuff but there was nothing.

I want to get some punches, guess I'll order Mayhew. Can't go wrong with Mayhew, it's easier to find distributors and that would make warranty issues easier as well.

You could always talk to a store/product manager. Doubt they even know they are back in business unlike most of us here.

I'll check on Friday: they had some Enderes drivers but they had some rust.

I just found out about this today from a friend and wanted to post on the site. I don't know if it's too late to get involved in the discussion or not, but as the owner of the new company, I certainly do appreciate all of the well wishes and positive comments. I have run a metal fabricating and machine shop business for over 30 years. Our shop was located just two blocks from the Enderes mfg plant and we had done tooling and repair work for them for close to 50 years. The problem was never with the tools but how the company had been run. It has been a challenge getting back into some of the stores considering how things ended, but we have added over 1300 customers since the beginning of the year and have shipped out over 2000 orders. Some of you had asked about the fixed blade screwdrivers. We received over 20,000 handles a few months ago and have been selling quite a few. I have had to reorder handles twice in the last few months to keep up with the demand. We even went back to the old clear and black handle rather than the charcoal. The clear handle is quite a bit more expensive, but as a customer, I had always loved their distinctive colored handle. While we prefer that you buy your Enderes tools locally, if you can't find them in your stores, you can order them direct. Make sure that your stores know that we are back in business and that you want them to handle the line again. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call or email

Steve O, it sound like your business is alive and well, very good to hear. I have a few Enderes punches and they are nothing short of excellent! You are at the right place for pushing your company in the right direction, there is just something about an American made tool! I wish you and your business well sir!

Steve O by all means add to the discussion. I think you are the first owner of a decent sized tool company to be on here.

And if you ever consider doing an "Enderes" day you will have to hire extra people for a week or two to get the orders out LOL.

So what would an "Enderes Day" entail ? I understand the concept, but don't know how it would work. We have brought in over 250,000 pounds of steel to date but obviously haven't shipped it all. I have a lot of tools in stock and want to move them to make room for more. I just ordered another 30,000 lbs of steel today.

If any of you have specific questions about anything, don't hesitate to ask. I will answer anything that I can. I have been buying tools since I was 10 years old. Besides being a vendor for the company for 30 years. I also owned and used their tools for as long. I wouldn't put my name on anything that I didn't believe in and I have always loved their tools, especially their fixed blade screwdrivers.

I had been working at trying to buy the company for 8 months before we completed the deal almost one year ago to the day. I had hoped to take over the operation before they closed their doors in April 2012, but they were in too bad of a financial position to get the job done by then. I had a deal struck within 3 days of talking to them, but there was just too much red tape to get through. They were closed for 6 months before I took over and then we had to get things back up and running. Many times, I considered walking away from the deal, but about then someone would call me and encourage me to keep at it because of the quality that the name represents.

The ONLY thing that we don't currently have are the bent tip prybars. We have ordered a new mold for the handles so that they can be molded right here along with our 2-1, 4-1, and 6-1 screwdriver handles. The mold should be here in a couple of weeks and then there will be NO backorders.

If you liked the quality of the tools before, then you certainly won't be disappointed in them now. If you have any comments or complaints, let me know and I will see what we can do about it. Our warranty remains the same. I will even replace any warranty items that were purchased prior to us re opening the company

Again, thanks for all of the support

Steve O, send a message to Bull, one of the moderators on this site.
An "Enderes" day would be a coordinated effort to buy tools from Enderes on a particular day. The last vendor specific ones have gone over very well.

Steve_O -

2 questions.

First - Are these the handles that you are going to be re-releasing ?

attachment.php

and 2nd - Back when I worked for a TV hardware store ('03-'10), we ordered our Enderes tools through a 3rd party vendor with a rep that would show up every 3 weeks. Later, True Value began to carry most of the Enderes catalog in warehouse. Does that distribution network still exist, or are you rebuilding a new one to get your tools to local businesses ?

I ask, because I no longer work for that store (won't set foot in it again), and am always looking for new sources to buy tools locally.

Steve, that is great to hear. I love your products...chisels, punches, screwdrivers. I am happy to support you guys...several of the local stores have carried your products in the past, and I hope they will continue to do so.

Yes, those are the exact same handles that we are buying again. Same vendor and everything. The only change that I made is that I liked the old Enderes Logo for the screwdriver which was ENDERES with a line on the top and bottom and I had them stamp USA on the handles as well. I will get a picture of one of the racks at and post it here so you can see them. We are also adding some sizes. There was never a 5/16" x 10 or a #3 phillips x 10" so we are adding those sizes as well.
Over the last few years, Enderes was booted out of all of the warehouses and larger box stores (Menards, Mills Fleet Farm, Blain's Farm and Fleet, Northern Tool) because they couldn't ship product. They were replaced with foreign imports and another competitor's line. The competitor's line doesn't have all the items that we have though so there is not as much of that available in those stores. I have tried to contact most and have talked to several so they know that we are back in business, but I also feel that I have to establish myself first. You can all help out by letting those stores know that you want Enderes Tools, not some of the cheap imports that they have been replaced with.
We have re established the network of independent reps that go out and sell our tools to your local hardware store, fleet store, etc. Most of the reps had gone to work for another competitor when Enderes closed, but I have managed to get almost all of them back. I still do have gaps in certain areas of the US but we have about 40 reps out selling the tools to our "dealers". A dealer can be anyone that wants to sell our tools so if you know someone that has had our tools in the past or who you think would benefit from handling our line, let them know. They can contact me directly or through our website (I haven't had a chance to do much with the website yet, but if they email through the website, it gets to me)
As I said before, we encourage everyone to buy locally, but until we get back our customer base, it is sometimes difficult to find someone locally selling our tools. Also, there may be items that you are looking for that your local store does not carry. If that is the case, you can go on the website and send an email or just call our 800 number to place an order

Thanks Steve, that's great news.
I'm exited about the new larger sizes on the screwdrivers, I have a thing for BFS's (Big [freakin'] Screwdrivers). 12", 16", and 24" screwdrivers wouldn't be shunned either :bounce:. Neither would an affordable set of quality handled prybars, similar to what Snap-On overcharges for. :D

Here are a few pictures of our booth at the Bostwick Braun Hardware show in Toledo a month ago. I have already reserved a booth at the National Hardware Show in Las Vegas in May. Northbridge Tool is the name of the new company. We couldn't use the "Enderes Tool Company" name but I do own the "Enderes Tools" brand name so all of the tools are still stamped Enderes. All of the part numbers and tool numbers remain the same. We have even been bringing back several of the tools that had been discontinued over the last few years. We are even looking for suggestions for new items that could be made. Between the machine shop that I have run for 30 years and the Enderes forge shop, there's really not much that we can't produce. I have made a lot of specialty tools over the years for myself but none of it is something that would have a widespread appeal. Maybe we need to have a contest or something.

Glad you have USA on the tools screwdrivers that don't have COO on them go in the quarter bucket for the yard sale!

I am very happy to hear the screwdrivers are being made again. I really like the large and small 4 in 1 screwdrivers. When I heard they went out of business, I called all over to get the last few I could find. I really like the quality and how it finds in my hand.

Could it be? Back in the 80's my dad gave me a 4 in 1 screwdriver. I put it through the ringer. Best screwdriver I ever owned. Felt right in the hand. Wore out the blade and in 1991 snapped the tip off the phillips trying to get a shower valve apart. When I couldn't find a replacement my brother gave me his. I have been looking for another ever since. It is the top screwdriver in the photo. As you can see, it doesn't say Enderes but could it be a private label or ? They look to be very similar. 4 In One Screwdrivers Inc no longer exists.

The Christy's is a nice screw driver and the closest to the original I have seen, but isn't the same. The tube diameter is slightly smaller, the handle appears to be a different type of plastic (I think the original may be nylon) and 4 sided rather than 6, and the bits are different (small #1 and medium #2 combos versus medium #2 and large #3 sizes). Finally, as you can see below, the reinforcing collar in the handle of the original is steel and in the Christy's is a cast material.

Looking at the Enderes website, and reading your comments, at the very least I would say I have a source for quality replacement bits :D, but the measurements of the screwdriver itself seem to be different. The bit holding tube on mine is 4.5 inches long (with a 5/16" bit) and it looks like the Enderes is 3.5". Can anyone confirm whether this is an Enderes driver or not? Either way, I will be putting in an order. I really like the 6 sided handle and would like a couple more. In fact, there are several tools I would like to pick up.

Thanks for joining in the conversation Steve, and for investing your time and energy in the purchase of the company. We need more owners like yourself.

We already have one.
The 2161 is a 4-1 screwdriver with Robertson bits #0-#3
We also have single ended robertson bits in 1" 2" 4" and 6" lengths.
These bits we import but they are of excellent quality.
The screwdriver including the bits are made completely in our facility in Albert Lea, Mn.
I can guarantee that there will be an Enderes day. I just have to get it set up with the "powers that be". As soon as we work out the "particulars" we will make it happen.
If any of you would like me to send you a .pdf of our current catalog and price sheet, you can email me at [email protected].

I saw in some of the earlier posts, that some of you were asking about the two larger sizes of Enderes 2-in-1 screwdrivers. These were discontinued by Enderes several years ago, but I do still have some of one of them left in stock. I will have to check which one we still do have stock in and I can let you know. I actually think that it is the smaller one (0927), but I would have to check to make sure. In any case, if there is enough demand, we can certainly bring them back. The 0297 uses the same blade as the 0911 but with a larger handle. The 0929 has a larger blade and handle than the 0927. The 0927 is a #1 phillips. The 0929 is a #2 phillips.

Oh man. I can't wait for Enderes Day. I think my long lost favorite gray and black handled screwdriver was an Enderes.

The screwdriver handles in this post are an "extruded" handle meaning that they were pressed out like in a "play-doh fun factory" and then machined to make the handles. This is an easy way to make handles with a minimum tooling investment, but you are limited to a "straight" handle. Years ago, Enderes invested in a mold for their 4-1/6-1 screwdriver handles that would fit the user's hand better than the previous extruded handle. This is how our 4-1/6-1 handles are made today. There was a significant initial investment made in a mold, but it means that we can make a handle that fits the hand better than a straight handle. There are samples of virtually every screwdriver handle that Enderes ever made down at the plant in one of the displays. I will try to remember to take some pictures and post them later. The previous Enderes "extruded" screwdriver handle was a 6 flute handle. We still do use extruded handles for the 4-1 mini's as well as the fixed blade screwdrivers. The other handles are molded handles.
The tube length on the 4-1/6-1 screwdrivers are 4 1/2" long. 4-1 are have 5/16" hex bits both ends. 6-1 have 5/16 straight bit one end, 1/4" hex phillips bit other end.
4-1 mini screwdrivers have a 3 1/2" long tube, 1/4" hex both ends
