I think I'm in as well (gotta check with the CFO :). Might have to drive down and pick them up if that's an option?

Did that include fixed blade drivers?

Yep, had a big foam display from stubbys on up. Also had a few other cardboard displays with pocket 2-1's. Had a bunch of carded single and double packs, etc. It was a large display overall. I was pretty impressed. Talked to the counter guy about them and he made sure to point out the warranty and made in america part. They seemed quite happy with them so far.

Here is the big display I was talking about. The big blades are hefty!

Did they have the clear handles with the black stripes? That's awesome if so, sure wish somewhere around me would stock em.

This is awesome! So happy to see a US company in business. I was so disappointed when I found the Craftsman stuff made in China. I'd buy just about everything US made if I could.

So, unless I missed it, it's not clear how we're supposed to buy on Enderes Day.

Should we order through their website, so we make sure we're getting new stock and supporting the new company?

Can we order through their website? Is that possible to do?

How are their fixed blade screwdrivers in terms of quality and longevity? Might pick some of those up with the cold chisels...

If they're anything near what they made before, very tough, no bling factor included. A true working mans screwdriver ;) I love the hexagonal stock and finishing they use on the tips, personally.

So have we determined how we are going to make these orders all together? Do we buy through a website? Is he offering us the entire catalog, or just select things? Are there any discounts or kicker items like we had on the Wilde sale at Epsteins last time around?

I'm still wondering, too.

I think Bull is helping to work out details for Enderes day. If I used his name in vain I will have to watch out for the horns!

Because 2/14 still seems far away to me, I have been coasting along. But if you guys want answers, I'll talk with the owner and see how best to setup the event.

I would very much like to get a 15-1 ratcheting screwdriver. I looked it up in the catalog, but it seems it is out of stock (item 2302). Will check local stores for it here in SW Ohio. Also check in here for the Enderes day sale.

I'd be in on a cold chisel roll, tack puller, a few new nail sets, 4-1 Screwdriver for the truck, and a new ripping bar; assuming I don't have to order 6 of every size of the things I want. ;)

May I suggest adding a page to the website that lists current dealers? That would help catch those who are looking to buy Enderes tools, but are put off by the website that is (hopefully!) being reorganized. :)

Even a single long page with states and store addresses would be a life saver, and I guarantee it'll pay for itself very quickly with just a few more sales that wouldn't have been there otherwise.

My local store had the stubby 2 in 1 with black handles instead of red, never saw that before.

We found a bunch of black handles that were used for something else years ago. While we were waiting for our first bunch of red handles, we decided to drill them and put them to use

The website is something that we have not had time to address yet. I wasn't very impressed with it even before I took over and I am not sure exactly what you can and can't do with it. I do receive emails from the website but have never received an order. It is an older format and not very "user friendly" and just needs to be scrapped and start over. We have added over 1500 dealers in the last year, but that doesn't mean there there is one near you or that they carry the items that you want. If you can't find anything locally, you can email through the website or call our toll free number 800-874-7776 and someone will take care of you.
You do not need to order in box quantities.

If I do say so myself, the quality of everything that we make would be the same or better than it was before. Same people working in the plant. Same or better materials than what was being used towards the end. Different ownership. Everyone in the plant has a renewed commitment to quality. I had been using their fixed blade screwdrivers for over 20 years and had never found a "standard" fixed blade screwdriver that fit a screw better than Enderes'. I love to fish and have my own boat and they are the only screwdriver that I have found that won't raise a "burr" when driving the stainless steel phillips screws that are typically used on a boat.

Forget about what the website tells you. We have everything in the catalog available. I know for a fact that there are over 2000 of the 15-1's in stock (we just got done doing inventory last week)

I am not sure how it's been done in the past, but I would intend to make the whole catalog available to everyone at a discount. There may be some "special buys" as well and I would offer free freight above a certain dollar amount

Years ago, Enderes used to sell only in "box quantities". They discontinued that years ago. The box quantity number still appears in the catalog, but any customers can buy in any quantity that they want

I talked to someone several weeks ago about that very thing. They had incorporated into their website and I could see that it would be a real benefit. I have someone working on it right now. My main criterion would be that it would be easy to update as we have added over 1500 dealers in the last year and we are adding new ones every day

Cool. I'm looking forward to it. And it is really nice to see you and a company so engaged on here. I really appreciate the effort and the effort of the guys/girls in the factory to make a quality product.

That is impressive. Turning a stainless screw with a phillips without damaging the head is a difficult job at best.

Can't wait for Enderes day. I've got a handful of small chisels I could use.

Can I make a suggestion? Why not offer up some free ratcheting screwdrivers or something small if any of your garagejournal friends can get their local hardware stores to make a first time purchase? You might be able to get all of us working for you! I would bet that many of us have relationships with local hardware stores and probably prefer to shop that way instead of HD or Lowes.

How are the bits removed from the Enderes 2302 ratcheting screwdriver's handle? Is there a removable cap at the end of the handle? I can't tell from the photo:

http://www.enderes.com/catalog/index.php?SCREEN=item&department=64&item=1

I have several Enderes combination screwdrivers, but wasn't aware of their 15-1 ratcheting screwdriver until reading this thread.

if I remember correctly, you turn a small plastic piece and the bit comes out of the corresponding slot.

Thanks. I ordered an Enderes 2302HY ratcheting screwdriver and 0935 10 inch #1 Phillips screwdriver from Northbridge Tool today. Al, the employee I spoke with on the phone, said the prices and some other information posted on the old http://enderes.com web site have changed.

I bought a couple of new Enderes screwdrivers directly from Northbridge Tools recently, including this 2301HY ratcheting screwdriver. The gearing is a coarse 10 tooth setup. The unique method of bit storage in the handle grooves is clever and covered by patent:

US_5881615

Bits are held in the shaft by a ball bearing held inside a small hole in the hollow shaft by a circlip type fastener. No magnets are used.

How do you like it overall? I want to pick up a ratcheting screwdriver and have been looking it up.

Steve, any chance of bringing the anvils back? When I used to sell Enderes tools I missed getting one right before they were discontinued. I've been looking for one ever since. eBay is bringing crazy prices for them. :shocking:
