How do you like it overall? I want to pick up a ratcheting screwdriver and have been looking it up.

The Enderes KV-1 ratcheting screwdriver is aptly suited for general purpose home owner type repairs. The excellent assortment of various size Phillips and slotted bits is just what I wanted. I probably won't be using the square recess bits. The 2 Torx bits may come in handy, although I have a wider variety of separate Torx drivers in my main tool box.

The 10-tooth gearing is coarse, like the older Craftsman 941464B, and it has moderately high drag at each click. The way Enderes holds bits in the handle grooves is excellent. The bits remain in full view and are easy to retrieve individually without losing them. Changing bits is faster than bits stored hidden inside a handle.

There is no end cap on the Enderes handle to unscrew by accident when bearing down hard on the driver -- a drawback which relegated my Felo Bit-Boy 373 multi bit driver to shelf queen. While the bit storage in the Enderes is a plus, it will be difficult to keep the handle clean with all those deep grooves.

The ratcheting action and fit and finish of the Williams WRS-1 are much better than the Enderes and the Williams cost only about $10 more. The Enderes' shaft is somewhat loose and wobbly like that on my Craftsman ratcheting screwdriver.

The name of this tool and a patent number are poorly embossed on the handle. You can barely read them. I didn't see them until I used a magnifying glass and lots of light.

I recommend the Enderes KV-1 for general purpose use in a car or house tool kit or by a traveling handyman. It will be my "go to" screwdriver for quick "honey do" projects. The Williams WRS-1 is a more precise tool better suited for use in a shop or other environment where your tool rollabout is nearby.

Steve, any chance of bringing the anvils back? When I used to sell Enderes tools I missed getting one right before they were discontinued. I've been looking for one ever since. eBay is bringing crazy prices for them. :shocking:

What size are you looking for ?
Yes, I have been considering it. The vendor that used to cast the anvils is located in the Mpls area. They have been a vendor of mine for other items for a number of years. There would be no problem with them providing the castings again and machining them would not be a problem for us either. My only concerns would be
#1 The demand, but I actually think that the demand would be pretty good
#2 Shipping cost of the anvils. (this would be my biggest concern as they are heavy)

I think the small one (9 lbs?) would be great. I believe there was a bigger one about 30 pounds or so but my memory is a little foggy with that one. :D

Steve,

Have you considered making welding clamps and locking pliers?

Making US made "vice grips"....great idea. There is no one who currently makes them in the US as far as I know!

The Chinese made ones are too soft in the jaw, the Spanish Grip-On are dreadfully expensive for a DIY type ($20+ if you can find them, even more from a snappy truck). The taiwan blackhawk aren't bad in quality or price at least.... I'd love to see more competition.

I'm going to email them to try to find a retailer near me, but in the meantime, for anybody looking to buy some of the new stock... :D

I have been playing around with google maps and I think I got this to work.
I have created and shared a map of all of our USA dealers
Let me know if it works and what you think of it
Click on the pin and the store information including phone number will pop up

That's quite a sea of red isn't it ?
Especially considering that just a little over a year ago, there were none

you might want to check on that dealer in france.:spit:

kind of sad that you have no dealers near fargo, nd/moorhead, mn or fergus falls, mn. there used to be quite a few around here, hardware stores, lumberyards and cenex stores. maybe you might want to get in touch with macs's hardware. they have quite a few locations in north dakota, south dakota and minnesota.

Also as a dealer I would LOVE an update to the display boxes for the 6-1's something more colorful and to draw attention to the tools and the fact they are made in USA....when I was rep'ing Enderes down in Texas I would get the same requests.

We did just pick up a former Enderes sales rep that works in Indiana. They have have been doing pretty well at getting some of the former Enderes customers back on board so the picture in Indiana may be changing soon

How about something like this ? I just ordered 250 of these last week. I hope to have them in about 4 weeks. They hold 48 screwdrivers

I have only added what we consider "dealers" These are retail outlets selling to the general public. We have a total of just under 1500 regular customers not counting cash or credit card sales. There are about 1360 listed here. This was my first attempt and I can see that I need to do a little more zip code checking. I don't know how a customer from Ne ended up in france.

I don't think we added a customer key for you when you ordered or maybe you were put in a different customer class. Would you like me to add you ?

No that is okay....since I don't have a "store front" it wouldn't be much reason to be on the map. I was just being sarcastic

The displays will cost me about $10 each. They will be given away free with the purchase of the 48 screwdrivers asst colors that you see in the picture.

You got a part # on those 48 or do you recommend to order 8 of each color to get the display? If everything can work out i will be interested probably next week. Along with ordering a box of 12 of the torn six in ones

I don't have a part number yet, but yes, there will be a part number and you would get exactly what you see in the picture

Steve are the 2in1 full size deivers in stock yet sir?

Not yet. My goal is to be able to have them for the Enderes Day event here on the Garage Journal. I ordered the handles and am waiting to hear when they are ready. We are getting ready to run the blades and handle inserts next week. We did find about 100 of the finished blades in a box when we were doing inventory.

Are we setup for 2/14 Enderes Day in terms of ordering details and whatnot? Can someone please give me a quick summary so I can create a thread and sticky it so people see it and have a chance to get ready?

^That is important. I think getting the thread up within a day or two will make a big difference in visibility and thus participation :)

I'm really looking forward to this one.

I'm calling Steve this week to chat.

Steve, do you have a secretary answering phones? I always feel odd calling GJ folk and saying "Hi So-and-So, this is Bull calling." When I called Wilde for Wilde Wednesday, the gal answering the phones sounded like she thought I was a nut! :spit:

Someone else may answer the phone if you call the 800 number. Just ask for me. If you call the cell phone, I will be the only one that should answer

steve can you ship out some regular size handles reversible`s for me please?

Just got the call today that the 2000 full size 2-1 handles are shipping today. Should have them later in the week. We have about 110 of the standard blades in stock that we found when doing inventory. Working on 2000 more (#2 phillips/1/4" straight) We are working on making the handle inserts. I have talked to my plant manager about making other interchangeable blades to go with them like snap on. That will take a little time though. We should have at least 110 of the full size 2-1's available on Enderes Day. All I can say is you guys better buy big !
