It's great to see Enderes back in business. I grew up in Albert Lea and still live only less than an hour away. This is probably a long shot but would it ever be possible for you to produce bench vises? I think it would be awesome to see brand new, quality, American made vises again. I know it's a really far out request but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask

"#2 phillips/1/4" straight" Steve what exactly do you mean by straight? Can you please post a picture of the blade please?

Again as I promised no matter what the price put me down for 10 minimum. Steve if the price is right they are going to sell like hot cakes.

Talked to Steve today. Do you guys reckon the best way to drum up interest in the 2/14 Enderes Day is to start a new thread, or just make this one a sticky and add the details to it?

I'm leaning towards a new thread.

Bump - to remind the membership that TODAY is Enderes Day at Garage Journal.

See post #38 (here) for details on how to order. Don't forget to check out the thread in the stickies section at the top of the forum.

Let's see if we can't infuse some cash into a company that is dedicated to producing quality tools made in the US with real people standing at real machinery, not robots on an assembly line.

I tried to get the spreadsheet thing to work a couple of times then gave up on it.

Does anyone know of any online vendors yet other than ebay?

What problem did you have? I couldn't add my address but that's it.

If you have trouble just send them a list of the items you want and ask for a total.

You could try putting your order in by just explaining that you had problems with the excel file and listing the items that you want to purchase. Provide a phone number and mailing address, they should get back to you sometime this weekend to confirm the order and get your CC info.

Steve and his staff have been working hard to make sure that this works out for all who want to participate.

If you are having problems, just write down what you want and email it to me or just call the 800 number on Monday and tell them what you want. Let them know that it's for the Garage Journal Enderes Day and I will make sure that you get the discount and free shipping at $50.

I bought an Enderes chisel and punch set several years ago at Northern Tool.

Will you ever distribute to NT or similar again?

Northern, Menards, Mills Fleet Farm, Blain's Farm and Fleet and several others dropped Enderes about two years ago, even before they closed their doors because they could not ship product. I would love to sell to them again. I do have several contact names. So far, no one that I have tried to contact at Northern has called me back. It all takes time.

Found a fish bowl display of NOS 2n1's at my local True Value this morning. They were stashed in the back room and had just been brought back out to the counter. There were only a few left. I just had to pick one up.

I let them know that Enderes was back in the game. ;)

we have the plain red 2 in 1s at the hardware store - no writing, but the 6 in 1s have the store name and phone number on them.

Its been five years since your announcement, a benchmark that separates the men from the boys. Now that the economy is back in business and you've paid your dues bringing the product back from the dead. How's it going? I hope to hear it was worth the struggle and you guys are booming, that would be amazing

So let me get this straight Steve. You brought back to life an top shelf American made product at a time when the "in" strategy is to do nothing more then concentrate on the bottom line and screw over what was a institution that made this country great (plz excuse the run on, lol). Bud you're my hero, I have nothing but the upmost respect for you and everyone involved. All though I'm just a individual, you guys will get all my business with your product line from now on. I truly hope this becomes a huge success and teaches all those traitors a lesson.

Best of luck!!, Cam

I have some of their original regular screwdrivers. Bought them when I was 16 local old school hardware store with pressed tin ceiling said they were the best. I think he was right. 27 years later they are my favorite screwdrivers. Have a hex shaft all the way to the tip which is machined and the strongest tip I have had. I lost one outside then found it a year later it doesn’t look so good but still works. I bought one of the new ones to replace it and it seems to be just as good as the old one. I only was able to damage one. I put about a 10 or 12” wrench on a slotted screwdriver trying to remove a seized screw. Didn’t break, didn’t strip the head but put a little twist in it. Also have some of the original chisels and nail sets love them. That same hardware store still has the largest selection of their tools I have seen anywhere. Can’t say enough good things about them.

Did they have a decent selection in there? I haven't really done much tool hunting in Ohio so far... I have everything I need already but.. a few spares couldn't hurt :)

I like their old style 6-in-1's. Like these 3 on the bottom in this old picture:

I gifted my best one to a forum member who expressed an interest, and like two weeks later found another bare handle. I need the shank and a pair of bits. Will the new shanks fit in the older style handles?

I just grabbed another used old style 6-in-1 driver like that one and I need the bits.

That puts my collection of those at 4 or 5 now. I just keep finding them.

Does anyone know if they are still in business? The web site is sort of up but not updated in years.i heard rumors of production doing to Asia, but nothing definite.

Good question. The last 6 in 1's I saw from them were using imported double sided bits, but another local hardware store just got a big batch of extra long Phillips and slotted drivers in, and those are US made. I know they moved plants a year or two back and that affected production.

I imagine if they're still in business, it's a pretty small operation. Between the two owners there was little or no production and they lost a lot of dealers. It's been around 5 years since I've seen any Enderes tools in stores around here.

I was wondering the same thing earlier this year, so I sent them an email. The owner emailed me back within a few minutes. They are still up and running.

Maybe it's time for another group buy?

Here's my current Enderes multi-bit line up, including the newest handle on the top. Still need various bits so the search continues....

Most of the bits from various brands fit each other, some are 1/4 .
I believe most bits are made in Taiwan.
SK bits are still stateside if that matters to anyone.
