Engine Oil Pan Separator Tool

Hey everyone,

Has anyone ever used one of these?:

I was trying to get the transmission pan off of my Mazda 3 to change the filter and they use that horrible pink sealant that makes it virtually impossible to remove. I was wondering if anyone had used this before and maybe had some success with it?

I'd prefer to buy the Lisle version if it works (since it's made in the US) but its virtually impossible to find.

I have a putty knife that the tang goes all the way thru the handle that works most of the time. For real stuck ones I use a wide wood chisel. But I'm liking that tool, might have to get me one

Ayuh,... I've always just used a putty knife,....

While I've got mountains of tools, the 1 posted ain't something I'll be lookin' for, when so many of the tools I've already got will do the same job,....

Instead of prying and possibly bending the pan .Try heating the pan rail with a torch it will soften the sealer and you will be able to remove it without prying. Bill

I have one. Makes pan removal easy. It has a flat spot on each corner to use with a hammer. Its compact size allows it to fit where a putty knife won't fit. It is also easier to tap into the seam than a putty knife. Buy it.
