Engine Stand for Lotus 907 Engine?

I'm looking for an engine stand to use while restoring the Jensen Healey. I've talked to a few manufactures and it looks as though I would have modify their stands to work with this bolt spacing. Is anyone aware of a standard engine stand that will work on British engines without mods?

Knowing little to nothing about British engines, can you tell me what is unique about the bolt spacing you refer to? (do you mean bolt threads maybe?)

Most engine stands I've ever seen have "universal" adjustments for attaching to almost any bolt pattern.

What I'm being told is that I'll have to increase the length of the adjustment slots by drilling or machining to get the bolts to line up with the engine. This is my first British engine so I'm learning as I go.

Any qaulity stand with 4 way head will do it.

I have seen more than one 907 engine mounted on a standard engine stand. You will need bolts- the stands 'fingers' are usually thicker than the bell housing and you will use those holes. Also, it is a metric thread. If you are buying one- dont worry too much about buying a big dollar unit- thats an all aluminium set up and wieghs in at like #350 completely built full of fluids.

Most engine stands are adjustable they don't fit any engine.you have to make
them fit they almost always take some adapting.You could make a plate or have
someone make a plate to fit your engine and your stand.but any stand should
be able to handle a 4cyl.I use to work on MG's and had a OTC stand I used.

My Triumph TR3's engine bolted up just fine to a cheapo engine stand borrowed from one of the guys around here. Whatever details are causing problems with the Jensen-Healey engine don't apply to all British...

Ayuh,.... While it's been an awfully long time, I remember a Healey motor that sucked to work on, on a stand, because the block had to be split to remove the crankshaft,....

Insteada havin' main bearin' Caps, the whole block was split, across the center-line of the crankshaft,...

/\ In that case you make an adaptor that lets you bolt to the motor mount and the top half of the block...it's not rocket surgery.

I've had a Jaguar straight six and tiny Mini Cooper 4 cyl on mine.....no, not at the same time!
